The chatbot from SpaceXAI (formerly xAI), integrated with the X social network.

Grok launched in November 2023 inside X, with standalone web and iOS apps from December 2024 and Android from February 2025. It is also built into Tesla's Optimus robot.

What it can do

• Conversation with access to posts on X
• Web search and a reasoning ("Think") mode
• Image generation (Grok Imagine)
• Grok Build: a coding agent for the terminal

How to start

1. Use Grok inside the X app, at grok.com, or in the Grok app
2. Sign in with an X account or email

Things to know

• Temporarily blocked in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines in early 2026 over sexual deepfakes
• Posted antisemitic content in July 2025
• SpaceXAI's founder admitted in 2026 that Grok was partly distilled from OpenAI models
